Catch Your Life is operated by Ryszard Śpiewak. This page explains what the website stores in your browser, what information is sent to analytics and advertising services, and how to contact me about your data.

Information stored in your browser

The website uses browser localStorage for two purposes:

  • theme stores your light or dark theme preference.
  • analytics-consent stores whether you accepted or rejected Matomo analytics.

These values do not contain your name, email address or other information that identifies you directly. You can remove them through your browser settings. The Cookie settings link in the footer lets you change your analytics choice.

Matomo analytics

Catch Your Life uses a self-hosted Matomo analytics installation at stats58.mydevil.net, website ID 64.

Matomo is loaded only after you accept analytics in the consent message. The site code currently requests:

  • trackPageView - records that a page was viewed.
  • enableLinkTracking - records link interactions, including outbound link clicks where Matomo identifies them.

Tracking requests are sent to https://stats58.mydevil.net/matomo.php. The Matomo JavaScript file is loaded from https://stats58.mydevil.net/matomo.js.

The standard Matomo tracker may use the following first-party analytics cookies after consent:

  • _pk_id - a visitor identifier used to distinguish visits.
  • _pk_ses - a temporary session cookie used to associate actions with a visit.
  • _pk_ref - referral and attribution information.

Standard web requests can also contain technical information such as the requested page, page title, referring page, browser and device information, IP address and timestamps. The exact processing and retention settings for the Matomo installation are controlled in Matomo.

The Catch Your Life code does not configure a user ID, custom dimensions, ecommerce tracking, heatmaps, session recordings or a public analytics form.

If you reject analytics, the Matomo script is not loaded and the website does not send Matomo tracking requests. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.

Google AdSense

The website includes the Google AdSense publisher code for publisher ID ca-pub-3534187545824242. The AdSense JavaScript is loaded from https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js.

If Google ads are served, Google and its advertising partners may collect, share and use information connected with ad serving. This can include cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers. Advertising may use information about the page being viewed and, where permitted, information about the user’s previous activity.

For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising consent choices are handled through Google Privacy & messaging where that service is applicable. Google may serve non-personalised or limited ads where personalised-ad consent is not available. The available advertising behavior also depends on the settings selected in the AdSense account and the consent choices available to the user.

The public website does not provide an account, login or contact form. If you email me, I receive the email address, message and any information you choose to include so that I can respond and handle the request.

Hosting and security logs

The hosting and web server may process technical request data in server logs, such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status and user-agent information. These logs are used for operating, securing and troubleshooting the website and are retained according to the hosting and server configuration.

Articles may contain links to external websites. When you follow an external link, that website’s own privacy policy applies. Catch Your Life does not control the data practices of external websites.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • reject Matomo analytics when the consent message appears;
  • change your Matomo choice through Cookie settings;
  • remove localStorage and cookies through your browser;
  • contact me to ask what personal data connected with your communication is held, or to request correction or data removal.
